Inver Grove Heights Article

Inver Grove Heights

We spent the five Sundays of January with a sermon series called “Starting Well”. We looked at the early life of Jesus

  • When He was 12 years old in the Temple we saw His Focus on the father
  • When He went to be baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River, we saw Jesus’ commitment
  • When Jesus went into the wilderness to fast and pray but He was Empowered to have victory over the temptations of the devil.
  • When Jesus went to His hometown of Nazareth and during the synagogue service, reads from the prophet Isaiah a prophecy about Jesus’ and our Mission as His representatives.
  • Jesus selects 12 men to be His Apostles. He spends three years discipling them. He (Praying, Asking, Sending, Strategizing) on to them all they need to carry on discipleship to others. This encouraged both Jesus and the Apostles.

In 2021, we at the CROSSROADS Church Inver Grove Heights campus want to start well just like Jesus. Our focus needs to be on our Father as He is the source of our strength, guidance, and power. We must be committed to what God directs us to do this year. We must be empowered by the Holy Spirit to see God do the miraculous through us. We must keep the mission Jesus has given us clear and not deviate from it. Finally, God is calling us to be discipled and to disciple others being an encouragement to all. The Apostle Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “So encourage each other and help each other grow stronger in faith, just as you are already doing.” If we follow through on Paul’s words, 2021 will truly be an awesome year for our church and the Kingdom of God!
